Hello Ladies!

Are you the type of woman that goes to all of your doctor appointments each year, checks all the boxes and follows all the rules?

You think everything is in control and you feel like an adult rockstar for figuring it all out.  Of course you most likely are a rockstar!  But other parts of your doctor office visit routine may not be living up to rockstar status.

From 29 to 34 years of age, my annual doctor didn’t talk to me about my declining fertility, let alone the opportunity to do something about it.

Declining Fertility

If you are like me, I really don’t want my doctor visits to go any longer than they need to. Therefore I get it; if the doctor’s office can get me in and out fast, that is best.   But if my doctor knows something about my fertility declining at a natural rate and doesn’t share that with me, I am disappointed.  Because as we most likely are starting to hear, women are not superhuman (although sometimes I forget this and think I am!).  As far as I know, nothing can stop the normal decline of a woman’s fertility.

Some Doctors Do Not Discuss It With You

We need to talk about this!

Check out my conversation with the lovely Dr. Joan Devine.

She shares a bit about herself, how she talks to women about egg freezing and her thoughts on why other doctors may not be talking about this with their patients.

Dr. Devine also talks about who she thinks should be thinking about egg freezing and how to bring it up with your own doctor.
